About WOFAR

Wings of Freedom Animal Rescue, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, was born from our deep commitment to supporting animals in need. Based in Connecticut, our grassroots volunteer organization passionately advocates for the voiceless in southern New England. Our mission is to extend a helping hand to local animals in distress.

Our Mission

  1. Rescue and Rehabilitation: We rescue animals from shelters and abusive situations, providing care, health maintenance, training, and securing loving homes for these resilient dogs.

  2. Public Education: We emphasize the importance of spaying or neutering, the value of vaccination programs, proper nutrition, exercise, training, and safety for pets.

  3. Reporting and Ending Abuse: We advocate for the significance of reporting and stopping all forms of abuse to animals, aiming to reduce overpopulation, eliminate high-kill shelters, and end the suffering caused by neglect and abuse.

Our Pledge

Our aim is to place each of our animals in homes committed to loving and nurturing them, not only through their transition period but throughout their lives. All our animals receive comprehensive vet care, including vaccinations, health checks, heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and are spayed or neutered before adoption.

At Wings of Freedom Animal Rescue, our dedication lies in finding forever homes and ensuring the well-being of every animal under our care. We are deeply grateful for your support and commitment to our cause.
